![]() In 2007, Ray burst on to the wrestling scene and in less than a year was carrying the All Star Wrestling promotion he was wrestling for up in Canada on his back. Despite all his success, Ray was not happy in ASW, there was no real competition for him to test himself against and he hated living in Canada, so rather than resign with them once his contract expired, he chose to jump ship to their rival organization, the Outsider Wrestling Federation. 2008 saw Ray hit the dreaded sophomore slump. His win/loss record no longer perfect like it had been in ASW, he struggled throughout most of the year, but still remained a top draw in the OWF feuding with the likes of Chris Green, EJ Slayer and Silence. Ray began 2009 by winning the OWF Network title from Porta Prince, after months of baiting him into a match. The two of them would eventually go on to put their differences aside and form the Caribbean Slaughterhouse alongside Vernon Somoza and battle the Rogues, a group comprised of Plague, JC, Dude Job and Trent Steel. Ray was to face Jesse Williams for the OWF title, unfortunately for him the OWF folded before that match could actually happen and he was forced to look elsewhere for employment. In the two months that followed, Ray entered into talks with both New Legends of Wrestling and Xtreme Online Wrestling. He liked what both organizations had to offer, but ultimately chose to wrestle for the NLW because he thought it was a better fit for him. It didn't take too long for Ray to find success in NLW; right away he beat Nick James for the Legacy title and found himself engrossed in a bitter feud with NLW great Josh Allen over the NLW championship.
